EGYPT – Spinneys, a leading retail chain, continues to bolster its presence across Egypt with the inauguration of a new store in west Cairo, further solidifying its footprint in the region.
Situated on the bustling Waslet Dahshour road on 6 October, within the Swell Lake strip mall opposite to Palm Parks, the store opened its doors on March 24, marking a significant milestone in the company’s aggressive expansion strategy.
CEO of Spinneys, Mohanad Adly, emphasized the strategic significance of the new opening amidst prevailing economic challenges, stating, “This is now our fourth store in the 6 October area, reflecting our unwavering commitment to the Egyptian market despite macroeconomic headwinds.”
He added, “The launch also marks the second store opening in the current fiscal year, with six more planned before the end of June.”
Since its establishment in Egypt in 2006, Spinneys has continually elevated its presence, focusing on delivering quality goods and services to discerning consumers.
With an initial foray into Cairo, the brand has since expanded its reach, operating 25 stores nationwide and employing approximately 2500 individuals.
Adly reaffirmed the company’s steadfast growth trajectory, stating, “Our plan for Egypt remains unchanged in spite of the current economic challenges.”
“We even stepped up our growth plan, with plans to open a larger number of stores annually for the next three years.”
He emphasized the diversification of store formats to cater to varying community needs, ensuring a tailored shopping experience for every locality.
The newly inaugurated 750 m2 supermarket is a testament to Spinneys’ commitment to delivering an unparalleled shopping experience.
Boasting an array of offerings including fresh meat, fruits & vegetables, deli & dairy, bakery items, as well as a wide range of non-food and general merchandise, the store caters to diverse consumer preferences.
In addition to its brick-and-mortar presence, Spinneys offers customers the convenience of online shopping through its delivery platform.

This latest store opening is part of Spinneys’ expansion plan for the fiscal year 2023/2024, with the company earmarking substantial investments totaling 350 million pounds.
