CANADA – The Quebec Potato Board has officially become a Gold member of the World Potato Congress Inc., further strengthening its influence in the global potato industry.
WPC President Peter VanderZaag expressed enthusiasm about this partnership, stating that the organization continues to build strong relationships worldwide.
“As we step away from a highly successful Congress in Australia in 2024, our sites are set on the June 2026 Congress in Poland, and that excitement is building. We are excited to have partners like the Quebec Potato Board joining us in supporting our global potato industry initiatives,” VanderZaag said.
The Quebec Potato Board represents farms that cultivate nearly 19,000 hectares across the province.
The organization is committed to advancing agronomic science, improving production methods, and increasing profitability for growers.
Peter VanderZaag highlighted the importance of collaboration in the industry, emphasizing that bringing producers together drives innovation, sustainability, and quality in agriculture.
“We’ve always believed that it’s fundamental to bring potato producers together to promote excellence in potato production and marketing. We lead targeted collective actions to support the growth and profitability of the sector. Our growers are committed to their industry and continue to invest in its future. As the potato industry evolves, the PPTQ will remain a steadfast advocate, representing their interests and promoting sustainable development,” VanderZaag stated.
With approximately 230 active members, the Quebec Potato Board continues to play a major role in supporting and advocating for potato producers.
