USA – UPL Ltd. and DECCO WW have announced the appointment of Manish Sirohi as the new Chief Executive Officer of Decco WW, a company under the UPL Group responsible for post-harvest solutions.

Sirohi, who joined UPL in 2004, has held various leadership roles across different markets and was most recently the Global Commercial Head of Decco WW.

In his previous role, Sirohi was credited with driving significant business growth despite challenging industry conditions. “Post-harvest solutions are a core part of our business and a crucial component of our sustainable future. These solutions are not just about preserving foods; they’re about sustaining livelihoods, ensuring food security, and minimizing waste in an increasingly demanding world with a rapidly growing population,” said Jai Shroff, Group CEO and Chairman of UPL.

He further emphasized that Sirohi, with his impressive 20-year history with UPL, is the natural choice to lead Decco WW into its next phase of growth.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Sirohi said, “I am honored to step into the role of CEO. I’ve had the privilege to grow with the company for many years, and I’m excited to lead Decco WW in its mission to transform post-harvest practices. We aim to leverage our expertise to drive innovation and make a meaningful impact across the agricultural landscape.”

Founded in 1934 by Charles F. Wallace and Martin F. Tiernan in California, DECCO was initially concerned with food waste and aimed to help citrus growers and packers increase the marketed volume in the USA.

Their initial solution was a chlorine-based product, but the company quickly expanded its offerings to meet the needs of customers and consumers. This innovation led to the development of new products and application equipment, and the company’s success soon led to overseas operations.

Today, DECCO operates in over 40 countries and has seven manufacturing sites. The company’s history of innovation and expansion reflects its commitment to addressing the evolving challenges of the post-harvest industry. As Sirohi takes on the role of CEO, he is expected to continue this legacy of growth and innovation.

Sirohi’s appointment comes at a critical time for the post-harvest industry. With increasing global demand for food and the need to reduce waste, companies like Decco WW play a vital role in ensuring food security and sustainability.

Sirohi’s extensive experience in both pre-harvest and post-harvest industries positions him well to lead the company through these challenges.

As the new CEO, Sirohi will focus on advancing Decco WW’s mission and driving the company’s strategic initiatives. His leadership is expected to enhance the company’s ability to deliver innovative solutions and maintain its position as a global leader in the post-harvest sector.
