Maersk appoints Lisa Park as new Managing Director for UAE

UAE – Maersk has announced the appointment of Lisa Park as the new Managing Director for the UAE, effective October 1, 2024.

In her new position, Park will also oversee Maersk’s operations in Oman and Qatar. This move comes as part of the company’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its leadership team and drive growth in key regions.

Park brings over twenty-two years of experience in the logistics and shipping industry to her new role. She previously served as the Regional Head of Sales for the Indian Subcontinent, Middle East, and Africa (IMEA), where she successfully led a team to achieve notable growth and build strong client relationships.

Her extensive background includes commercial strategy and business development, with a focus on market expansion and revenue diversification.

“I am excited about accepting the new role of leading the business and team in the UAE,” said Park. “Having spent the last four years in this market, I am eager to leverage my experience to drive further growth and success. Along with our strong team in the UAE, I look forward to contributing to our business strategy and enhancing our priorities here.”

New Managing Director for South Asia

This announcement follows another significant leadership change within Maersk. The company has also appointed Christopher Cook as the new Managing Director for India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, effective October 1, 2024.

Cook, who is currently the Managing Director for UAE, Oman, and Qatar, will bring his wealth of experience to this new role.

Cook has been instrumental in driving growth and diversifying Maersk’s business across the UAE. His previous achievements include transforming Maersk’s product profile and expanding into crucial areas such as Air Freight and Contract Logistics.

He is also a strong advocate for decarbonization and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) initiatives.

“I am deeply honored to take on the role of leading the team in South Asia,” Cook stated. “This region holds significant growth potential, and I look forward to collaborating with our talented team to strengthen Maersk’s position as a leading logistics partner.
