USA – Jeff Correa, the Director of International Marketing at Pear Bureau Northwest (PBNW), has been appointed as the new Manager of the Fresh Pear Committee (FPC) under Federal Marketing Order 927.
This decision was made during the committee’s meeting on June 12.
Correa will assume his new responsibilities on July 1, while continuing his current role at PBNW. He takes over from Kevin Moffitt, who has been the FPC Manager since 2001.
Moffitt will transition to a mentoring role at PBNW for the next year, supporting Correa in the administrative aspects of the new position.
“I am excited to serve the industry in this new capacity as Manager of the Fresh Pear Committee,” Correa stated. “I look forward to learning from Kevin during this initial transition period and working with USDA AMS in my new role.”
Correa brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having worked extensively with the USDA throughout his career.
His expertise in international marketing and familiarity with the regulatory environment positions him well to oversee the FPC’s operations.
“The Manager of the FPC plays a pivotal role in administering regulations, conducting grower assessments for research and promotions, and managing pear inventory figures throughout the season,” said Moffitt.
“Jeff has decades of experience working with the USDA, and I have full confidence that he will be a great fit for this position going forward.”
