USA – Holger Brandt, formerly general manager of the Sekoya blueberry program at Fall Creek Farm & Nursery, has joined Agrovision as its new managing director for strategic partnerships.
This appointment comes as Agrovision, a leading US-based berry and cherry supplier, seeks to enhance its production base and introduce new fruit varieties to global markets.
Brandt brings a wealth of experience from his time at Fall Creek, where he played a pivotal role in developing and commercializing the Sekoya blueberry varieties.
His leadership was instrumental in transforming Sekoya into one of the fruit industry’s fastest-growing genetic initiatives.
Now, at Agrovision, Brandt is expected to leverage this experience to drive innovation and strengthen the company’s global partnerships.
Agrovision, known for its premium blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, and cherries, sells its products under the Fruitist and Big Skye brands through major retail chains worldwide.
With a recent USD 100 million equity financing round that valued the company at over USD 1 billion, Agrovision is poised for further growth. The company sees Brandt’s appointment as a key move in this expansion.
“Holger is a globally recognized expert in the industry,” said Steve Magami, Agrovision’s co-founder and CEO. “His focus on strengthening innovation in genetics and expanding our global production will solidify a key pillar of our value proposition, ensuring our continued growth and leadership in the industry.”
Brandt’s role will involve leading innovation initiatives and fostering strategic partnerships in genetics and production, ensuring the continuous supply of high-quality fruit to meet the growing global demand.
His work will be crucial in helping Agrovision replicate its success with blueberries across the broader produce aisle.
Brandt expressed his enthusiasm for his new role, noting the alignment of his experience with Agrovision’s goals.
“Agrovision was a key partner to Sekoya in the commercialization of its new varietals to consumers globally from the start, and I have been working very closely with the team since then,” Brandt said.
“I am truly honored by the confidence and trust placed in me with this position. Now is a time of tremendous opportunity for Agrovision as it scales its leadership in premium blueberries, and I look forward to helping drive Agrovision’s success forward.”
Based in Valencia, Spain, Brandt will report directly to CEO Steve Magami and executive director Juan Pablo Spoerer.
His global perspective and expertise are expected to contribute significantly to Agrovision’s mission of creating sustainable economic opportunities through high-value crops with rising global demand.
Agrovision’s commitment to sustainability and community impact is a core part of its business model. The company invests in high-value permanent crops that not only meet rising global demand but also bring sustainable economic opportunities to individuals and communities.
Brandt’s leadership in this area is expected to further enhance these efforts, aligning innovation with long-term sustainability goals.
