NIGERIA – Haul247, a leading technology company focused on logistics in Africa, has announced the appointment of Ngozi Ijeoma Aghomi and Adaora Ikenze as non-executive directors.
These appointments are expected to enhance the company’s growth and service expansion across the continent.
Haul247’s CEO, Sehinde Afolayan, expressed confidence in the new appointments, noting that Aghomi and Ikenze bring valuable experience that will drive the company’s ambitions in Africa’s complex logistics landscape.
“Ngozi and Adaora bring a wealth of experience in navigating complex markets and scaling operations, which will be instrumental as we expand our footprint across Africa and introduce new services,” Afolayan stated.
Aghomi currently serves as the Director of Manufacturing Operations at Diageo North America and has a strong background in supply chain management.
She has worked with multinational corporations across Sub-Saharan Africa and holds multiple academic qualifications, including an MBA in General Management from Pan-Atlantic University’s Lagos Business School and executive diplomas in managing businesses in emerging markets from the University of Wisconsin and IESE Business School at the University of Navarra.
Ikenze, on the other hand, is the Director of Public Policy for Anglophone West Africa at Meta Platforms. She has a diverse professional background, with experience in law, development, political advising, and non-profit funding.
Her previous roles include senior positions at the Global Fund for Women in San Francisco, the Commonwealth Secretariat in London, and the Open Society Initiative for West Africa in Nigeria.
Ikenze earned her undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of Sheffield and Columbia University.
The new appointments come at a crucial time for Haul247, which raised seed investment in 2023 to establish itself as “Africa’s Airbnb for trucks and warehouses.”
The addition of Aghomi and Ikenze to the board is seen as a significant step in solidifying the company’s presence in the African logistics industry.
Aghomi expressed her enthusiasm about joining Haul247’s board, saying, “Joining Haul247’s board is a tremendous opportunity to be part of a dynamic team transforming logistics in Africa. With my background in supply chain management and business strategy, I am excited to help drive Haul247’s expansion and enhance its service offerings across the continent.”
Ikenze also shared her excitement about the role, stating, “I am honoured to join Haul247’s board and contribute to its mission of improving logistics across Africa. The potential for growth and innovation in this sector is immense, and I look forward to leveraging my experience to support Haul247 in achieving its strategic goals.”
