GrubMarket acquires Best Oriental Produce to strengthen portfolio

US -GrubMarket has announced its acquisition of Best Oriental Produce, a leading provider of Asian squash in the US and a major importer of young coconut from Thailand.

This move significantly expands GrubMarket’s presence in the fresh produce market.

Best Oriental Produce, based in Vernon, CA, operates a substantial 700-hectare farming operation across California and Mexico, specializing in high-quality vegetables year-round.

The company is the largest Chinese eggplant grower globally, shipping over 46,000 cases each month.

It also has a PrimusGFS-certified warehouse facility with advanced refrigeration, serving major supermarket and retail chains across the US and Canada.

“Best Oriental Produce’s strong focus on quality and service has built lasting relationships with top customers,” said Mike Xu, CEO of GrubMarket.

Under GrubMarket’s ownership, Best Oriental Produce will benefit from GrubMarket’s advanced technology solutions, including AI-powered ERP software, which provides seamless financial management and precise inventory control.

“We’re excited to integrate Best Oriental Produce into our portfolio and utilize our technology to further enhance their operations,” Xu added.

This acquisition follows GrubMarket’s recent purchase of Global Produce, which enhances its reach in South Africa and other global markets.

Founded in 2013, Global Produce focuses on grapes, citrus, and a variety of other fruits, and supplies to 44 countries. The acquisition supports GrubMarket’s strategy to link African farmers directly with international markets.

Additionally, earlier this year, GrubMarket’s acquired JC Cheyne, a prominent potato and onion producer, further highlighting its commitment to strengthening its West Coast operations.

JC Cheyne, with over 60 years in the industry, will leverage GrubMarket’s technology to enhance distribution and service capabilities.

These strategic acquisitions reveal GrubMarket’s dedication to expanding its fresh produce operations and enhancing its global market reach.
