EGYPT – Fresh Energy has emerged as a trailblazer in the domain of controlled environment agriculture in the ever-evolving landscape of Egyptian agriculture, where temperature fluctuations and climatic uncertainties pose challenges.

Reham Kamal, the Export and Marketing Manager at Fresh Energy, attests to the transformative impact of their cutting-edge greenhouse technology on crop quality, especially in the production of peppers.

Reham highlights the consistent quality maintained throughout the year, even in the face of temperature swings, attributing this success to their state-of-the-art greenhouse technology.

She emphasizes, “This season, like every other season where temperature swings have impacted farmers in open fields, we have been able to maintain consistent quality throughout the year. This is thanks to our cutting-edge greenhouse technology.”

While traditional open-field farming remains the norm for most vegetable production in Egypt, Fresh Energy’s embrace of greenhouse production has positioned them as resilient competitors in the European market.

Reham explains, “In the peppers sector, for example, we are safe from the fluctuations in external climate conditions that affect Egypt and other competitor countries, and which have become more pronounced this season.”

The diverse range of peppers, including Kapia, California, Palermo, Hungarian White, and Hungarian Hot Green varieties, are cultivated in optimal conditions within Fresh Energy’s greenhouses.

Reham emphasizes that this controlled environment ensures optimal growing conditions, contributing to the consistent quality that distinguishes their produce.

“Our main markets are Europe and the UK, where demand is strong,” notes Reham. The strategic placement of facilities, including a primary European logistics center in Hungary, coupled with efficient logistics, has fortified Fresh Energy’s market presence.

Reham elaborates, “Our logistics center in Hungary has ensured smooth and rapid deliveries, mainly through the port of Koper, offering a fast transit time of 3 to 4 days. We intend to extend its reach to Russia and Asia in the near future.”

Reham concludes by underscoring Fresh Energy’s commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and adherence to EU standards, establishing the company as a trusted supplier.

“By combining controlled greenhouse environments, a focus on quality, and an unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction, Fresh Energy has established itself as a trusted supplier of exceptional peppers, in line with EU standards,” she asserts.

This success story aligns with the broader trend in the agriculture industry. According to recent market reports, the Global Controlled Environment Agriculture Market, valued at USD 81.74 billion in 2022, is projected to reach USD 157.28 billion by 2029, exhibiting a robust CAGR of 9.8%.

The increasing demand for food, coupled with diminishing arable land availability, propels the adoption of controlled environments for agriculture globally.

Fresh Energy stands at the forefront of this transformative shift, showcasing the potential of controlled environment agriculture in ensuring reliable and high-quality crop yields.
