ITALY – The 73rd edition of the Flormart Green Italy International Exhibition of Horticulture wrapped up in Padua on September 27, 2024, marking another successful year for one of Italy’s most important green industry events.
The three-day exhibition drew in over 120 exhibitors from across the globe, showcasing the latest developments in horticulture, landscaping, and sustainability.
Held at the Fiera di Padova convention center, Flormart Green Italy 2024 placed a significant emphasis on green innovation.
The event featured immersive spaces that allowed visitors to experience the intersection of nature and design, and also provided a platform for discussions on sustainable practices in the industry.
Exhibitors and attendees alike were keen on finding solutions to reduce the impact of climate change.
A highlight of the event was the Carré des Jardiniers competition, which is set to be held next year at the Paysalia trade fair in France.
Caroline Roques, head of communications for Paysalia, explained, “The competition encourages master gardeners to design spaces that reflect creativity, innovation, and sustainability.”
During the opening of the event, Matteo Zoppas, President of the Italian Trade and Investment Agency (ICE), addressed the crowd, emphasizing the importance of the floriculture sector to Italy’s economy.
“With a production value of 3.2 billion euros in 2022, Italian floriculture remains a vital contributor to our agricultural industry,” Zoppas said.
He also noted Italy’s status as the third-largest plant and flower producer in the European Union, with exports exceeding 1.2 billion euros.
Sustainability was a central theme at Flormart Green Italy 2024, with many exhibitors showcasing environmentally friendly products and services.
One of the standout companies was Vannucci Piante, which operates across three continents and manages 545 hectares of nurseries.
The company highlighted its efforts to reduce water waste and its commitment to tackling climate change.
Antonio Cellie, CEO of Fiere di Parma, noted, “We believe in the floriculture sector’s potential to lead in both economic growth and environmental sustainability. Through events like Flormart, we aim to provide a platform for innovation and collaboration.”
The event saw participation from businesses around the world, including companies from France, Poland, and Spain.
Thanks to ICE Agency’s involvement, around 200 international buyers were able to attend the fair, establishing new business relationships and securing important contracts for the coming year.
Matteo Zoppas reiterated the international nature of the event, saying, “Flormart is not only a showcase for Italian excellence but also a crucial meeting point for global players in the horticulture industry. This year’s event solidified its reputation as a key platform for business and innovation.”
Flormart Green Italy continues to grow as an international platform for industry leaders, providing an opportunity for companies to showcase their sustainable products and innovations.
