ETHIOPIA – Ethiopian Cargo & Logistics Services, Africa’s largest air cargo network operator, has inaugurated freighter service to Casablanca, Morocco, adding its extensive network to 35 freighter destinations within Africa.
“Today marks a significant milestone as we launch freighter services to Casablanca, Morocco,” stated Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO, Mr. Mesfin Tasew.
“This venture into the Maghreb region amplifies our commitment to delivering reliable and efficient services. As the largest cargo network operator in Africa, Ethiopian Airlines continues to expand its global footprint, opening new routes to facilitate global trade and goods flow.”
Operated by the modern Boeing 777-200F cargo aircraft with a payload capacity exceeding 100 tons, this new service signifies Ethiopian Cargo’s strategic foray into the Maghreb region, solidifying its position as a key global air cargo service provider.
Ethiopian Cargo & Logistics Services, a pivotal arm of Ethiopian Airlines Group, presently encompasses over 135 international destinations worldwide, including 68 dedicated freighter services.
With a fleet of more than 145 airplanes, including 17 dedicated freighter aircraft, Ethiopian Cargo connects continents, playing a vital role in enabling business and investment globally.
The logistics arm boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including a warehouse with a storage capacity of 1.15 million tons. Recently, the completion of an ultramodern e-commerce warehouse, dedicated to mail, couriers, and e-commerce goods, further enhances Ethiopian Cargo’s capabilities.
These cutting-edge facilities offer a temperature-controlled environment for various shipments, showcasing a commitment to excellence in cargo handling.
In 2023, Ethiopian Cargo received numerous accolades, including Best Cargo Airline-Africa for five consecutive years and Cargo Airline of the Year for two years at the Air Cargo News Awards.
Additionally, it was recognized as the Sustainable Cargo Airline of the Year-Africa at the Freight Week Sustainability Awards, among other prestigious honors.
