EGYPT/MOROCCO – As Asia Fruit Logistica approaches, fruit and vegetable buyers are gearing up to explore exciting opportunities from Egypt and Morocco.
The event, scheduled for September 4-6 in Hong Kong, promises a rich array of produce deals from these key suppliers.
The Asia Fruit Logistica will serve as a platform for Egyptian and Moroccan exporters to present their top-quality products. This follows the success of the FAO/EBRD project launched in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The focus now shifts to Southeast Asia, inviting buyers to meet with prominent suppliers from both countries.
The event will feature over 20 Egyptian exporters showcasing a broad selection of fruits and vegetables. Exhibitors will present citrus fruits, fresh grapes, pomegranates, onions, strawberries, and many other items. Notable products also include bell peppers, potatoes, garlic, mangoes, and a range of other fresh produce.
Attendees can also schedule meetings with these exhibitors in advance. For those interested, pre-scheduling is facilitated through direct contact or an online form available on the event’s website.
A key highlight of the event is a special session at the Asia Fruit Congress. Scheduled for September 6, this panel discussion will delve into new sourcing opportunities from Egypt and Morocco.
Industry experts, including Hesham ElNaggar from Daltex and El Mehdi El Alami from Morocco FoodEx, will provide insights into the export potential of these countries’ produce.
Hajer Magdy, an International Fresh Produce Trade Consultant at FAO, will also be present, discussing the latest trends and opportunities in the fresh produce market.
Egypt’s produce sector boasts a strong global presence, particularly in the export of oranges, potatoes, onions, grapes, and strawberries. With a nearly year-round citrus season and a competitive quality-to-price ratio, Egypt continues to attract attention from buyers in Southeast Asia.
Morocco, on the other hand, is emerging as a significant player in premium-quality produce. The country’s seedless easy-peelers and fresh berries, especially blueberries, have seen substantial growth in exports.
Morocco’s ability to offer high-quality products with unique seasonal advantages makes it a compelling choice for international buyers.
