EGYPT – Cairo will host a highly anticipated press conference on 11 September at the Nile Tower Hotel to announce the 42nd edition of the Macfrut Exhibition, set to take place from 6 to 8 May 2025 in Rimini, Italy.

Egypt has been selected as the guest of honor for the 2025 edition, further cementing its position as a key player in the global agricultural sector.

Macfrut is widely recognized as a significant global platform in the agriculture industry, attracting leading companies, brands, and supply chain experts from around the world.

The previous edition saw 30 Egyptian companies participating, showcasing their products on 360 square meters of exhibition space.

The event drew over 56,000 international buyers, providing a valuable opportunity for business development and export expansion.

“The Macfrut Exhibition has become a cornerstone for many in the agricultural industry,” said an official from Cesena Fiera. “The 2025 event will be an excellent opportunity to build new connections, enhance exports, and explore the latest market trends.”

Key figures and industry leaders to attend

The press conference in Cairo is expected to draw several prominent figures from Egypt’s agriculture and export sectors.

Among those attending will be representatives from Egyptian companies specializing in agricultural products, logistics, packaging, and shipping.

Officials from the Export Council for Agricultural Crops, the Arab-Italian Chamber of Commerce, and the Logistics Sector of the Ministry of Transportation will also be present, highlighting the importance of Egypt’s role in global trade.

Egypt’s Ministry of Agriculture will also send representatives, with Agricultural Quarantine officials and members from the Horticultural Export Improvement Association set to attend.

Fostering collaboration between Egypt and Italy

A key focus of the upcoming Macfrut 2025 exhibition will be on potatoes, a crucial crop for both Egypt and Italy.

There will also be opportunities to discuss new agricultural innovations and explore modern market trends. During the press conference, attendees will have the chance to engage in bilateral meetings with the Italian delegation, which will include wholesalers and representatives from major agricultural supply chains.

These discussions are expected to strengthen trade relations between Egypt and Italy and offer valuable insights into the future of agricultural trade.

“Egypt’s involvement as the guest of honor underscores the country’s growing influence in the global agricultural sector,” said an official from the Egyptian Exporters Association. “This is an exciting opportunity for Egyptian exporters to showcase their products and enter new markets.”

The press conference marks the beginning of intense preparations for Macfrut 2025, with Egypt expected to have an even larger presence at the event.

This collaboration with Italy offers a platform for both countries to share knowledge and establish long-term partnerships that will benefit the agricultural industries of both nations.
