Cool Chain Association announces Vijan Chetty as new treasurer

EUROPE – The Cool Chain Association (CCA) has appointed Vijan Chetty, General Manager of the Perishable Products Export Control Board (PPECB), as the new Treasurer.

Chetty replaces Miguel Rodriguez, who is stepping down from the CCA board to pursue academic interests, according to an official release from CCA.

Vijan Chetty brings over 25 years of experience in the temperature-controlled supply chain to his new role.

His career includes both operational roles and senior management positions with the PPECB. Chetty has been a member of the CCA board since 2018 and has led several initiatives, including establishing a Memorandum of Understanding between PPECB and CCA.

“I am honored to take on this new role and continue our efforts to enhance the efficiency and quality of the temperature-sensitive supply chain,” said Chetty.

In addition to Chetty’s appointment, the CCA announced the addition of two new board members: Natalie Niers, Chief Operating Officer of Validaide, and Ian Buck, Head of Business Development at AEROTUF.

Gerton Hulsman, Commercial Director at Energy in Process, has been elected as an advisory board member. These appointments are part of CCA’s strategy to strengthen its leadership and drive new initiatives.

The CCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the temperature-sensitive supply chain through collaboration, education, and innovation.

The association’s mission is to reduce wastage and enhance the quality, efficiency, and value of the supply chain for companies and society.

To achieve these goals, the CCA facilitates both vertical and horizontal collaboration among members and stakeholders.

The organization serves as a community for professionals in the temperature-sensitive supply chain, providing thought leadership, networking opportunities, and solutions to industry challenges.

One of the new initiatives being driven by PPECB is a project comparing air and sea transportation.

This project aims to identify the most efficient and sustainable methods for transporting perishable goods.

Additionally, the CCA is working on programs in collaboration with Pharma.aero and Cargo iQ, focusing on improving logistics for pharmaceutical products and enhancing supply chain transparency.

The CCA plays a vital role in bringing together various parts of the temperature-sensitive supply chain. By fostering an environment of cooperation and innovation, the association helps its members tackle complex industry problems and improve overall performance.

“The CCA is committed to making a tangible impact on the supply chain, and our new board members bring fresh perspectives and expertise that will help us achieve our objectives,” said a CCA spokesperson.
