PERU – Camposol, a leading agro-industrial company in Peru, has announced the appointment of Pedro Aguilar Niño as the Senior Manager of its Avocado Business Unit.
This new role positions Aguilar Niño at the helm of all avocado operations within Camposol, including sites in Peru and Colombia.
He will oversee the strategy for purchasing avocados, as well as the management of both fresh and frozen product categories.
Aguilar Niño brings a wealth of experience to Camposol, having spent over 35 years in the perishable products industry, with a significant focus on avocados.
He holds a degree in Business Administration from the Colegio de Estudios Superiores en Administración (CESA) in Bogotá, Colombia, and has studied Naval Engineering at the Escuela Naval de Cartagena.
His career has taken him across all aspects of the avocado business, from production to marketing, making him a well-rounded leader for the company’s global strategy.
In his previous roles, Aguilar Niño served as the Director and owner of Avolimes SAS, and as General Manager at Westfalia Fruit and Westfalia Farms in Colombia.
He successfully led a Hass avocado production and export business, achieving remarkable international sales. Additionally, he was President and CEO of Fresh Directions International in the United States, a key player in Hass avocado production in North America.
His extensive experience includes significant positions in agrifood marketing and international trade in Canada, further solidifying his credentials.
“Pedro’s leadership and comprehensive understanding of the avocado market will be instrumental in driving Camposol’s growth strategy,” said a company representative.
“His experience will guide our efforts to enhance competitiveness and sustainability in the agri-food sector.” Aguilar Niño’s responsibilities will encompass strategic decision-making throughout the avocado value chain, from field operations and processing to market distribution.
Camposol continues to broaden its reach in the agri-food industry. Recently, the company partnered with Ninjacart, a leading agricultural firm in India, to introduce high-quality Peruvian blueberries to the Indian market.
This partnership leverages Ninjacart’s robust digital marketplace and supply chain technology to ensure consistent blueberry availability across India.
The collaboration aims to optimize Camposol’s market entry through Ninjacart’s extensive network of over 100,000 retailers, ensuring that Indian consumers have access to premium, fresh blueberries.
The partnership also emphasizes end-to-end traceability, enhancing transparency regarding the safety and origin of the produce.
Founded in 1997, Camposol has grown to become one of Peru’s largest agro-industrial companies, operating over 25,000 hectares in La Libertad and Piura.
The company offers a diverse range of products, including blueberries, avocados, table grapes, mangos, and mandarins. Camposol is renowned for its commitment to high-quality produce, which it exports to markets worldwide.
