UK – Design-led corrugated packaging company BoxWay Packaging Group has leveraged its in-house design capabilities to create cardboard boxes for Ashridge Nurseries, a UK online garden centre based in Somerset.
These boxes replace preformed plastic packs to protect Ashridge’s herbaceous plants and pots during transit across the UK.
The new cardboard structure features an integral flap in a die-cut version of a 0427 box, ensuring rigidity and strength to secure the pots. Additionally, the packaging offers extra space to accommodate various plant sizes and lengths.
Ashridge Nurseries’ Fulfillment Manager, Rodney Marsh, commented, “This box is a key ecological development for us. It reduces our carbon footprint and offers our online customers a recyclable packaging solution, furthering our efforts to eliminate plastic from our supply chain.”
The retailer plans to extend cardboard solutions to its other plant product lines.
BoxWay’s New Business Manager, Tom Fooks, expressed his enthusiasm: “We are thrilled with the result of the new eco-friendly structured boxes. We look forward to further developing Ashridge Nurseries’ complete range of corrugated solutions.”
Established in 2021, BoxWay operates two manufacturing plants in Exeter, Devon, and Peterlee, County Durham.
