NETHERLANDS – Beekenkamp Group, a prominent Dutch family-owned company known for its work with both vegetables and ornamental plants, has teamed up with Dümmen Orange, a leader in breeding cut flowers and bedding plants.

The two companies signed a Letter of Intent, marking a significant step towards collaboration in marketing, research and development (R&D), and production.

Their previous collaboration focused on the rooting of chrysanthemums, yielding successful results. Now, the companies aim to deepen their relationship, driven by a mutual desire for economies of scale and the belief that cooperation will foster long-term success.

In a related development, Dümmen Orange recently honored the Ethiopian Horticulture Producer Exporters Association (EHPEA) for its exceptional contributions to the horticulture sector.

The award, which included a trophy and a certificate, was presented during the annual Workers’ Day celebration, attended by company management, employees, and various institutional representatives.

This recognition highlighted EHPEA’s steadfast commitment to excellence and its significant role in promoting growth within the business community.

During the ceremony, Yordanos Jemal, General Manager of Dümmen Orange’s Ethiopian farm, expressed gratitude to her team, stating, “The farm has achieved significant milestones despite the challenges we faced. I want to thank our workers and management team for their dedication and hard work.”

Jemal underscored the farm’s ongoing dedication to quality and innovation, even amid obstacles. Benjamin Geopferich, Regional Director for Dümmen Orange in Africa, attributed the farm’s success to the strong team spirit among management and workers.

He highlighted the effective leadership of General Manager Jemal as a crucial element in their accomplishments.
