BELGIUM – AVR, a Belgian family business specializing in potato harvesting machines, has introduced the Spirit 9200i Bunker Potato Harvester, a major upgrade to its acclaimed Spirit 9200 model.
This new machine brings notable improvements in flexibility, capacity, and user comfort, catering to the high demands of modern potato harvesting.
The Spirit 9200i features several advanced components. The new model includes an upgraded cross-roller set and fully hydraulic driving system, enhancing its cleaning capabilities and operational efficiency.
“The machine’s drive system is compatible with ISOBUS, allowing for configuration via various display screens, including the Müller Touch800 or Smart570,” an AVR press release notes.
The integration of the ISOBUS-AUX system also enables control through the tractor joystick, streamlining operations.
This model improves on its predecessor with a more effective pintle belt module and advanced cleaning systems. The pintle belt module now features up to four sieve webs, with options for one long or two short digging webs, enhancing sieving capacity.
Additionally, the Spirit 9200i includes a cross-roller module that boosts cleaning power by removing soil, clods, and stones more efficiently.
The haulm separation system has also been refined. The machine uses a combination of sieving and haulm webs with adjustable retainers to ensure efficient separation.
The addition of a closed conveyor under the haulm web allows any potatoes mistakenly carried with the haulm to return to the machine.
The Spirit 9200i is equipped with a Clean & Go bunker capable of holding over eight tons of potatoes. This feature reduces the need for frequent stops, thanks to the machine’s ability to unload without halting operations.
The machine also boasts an adjustable unloading height and an optional hydrostatic wheel drive system, enhancing its traction and adaptability on different terrains.
A standout feature of the Spirit 9200i is AVR Connect, which allows users to monitor the machine remotely. This system provides access to performance data, sensor readings, and even remote diagnostics.
The machine has already been tested extensively, with positive feedback leading to a pre-production run in 2024.
AVR will showcase the Spirit 9200i at the Potato Europe trade fair on September 11-12, 2024, in Villers-Saint-Christophe, France.
