UK – International law firm, Addleshaw Goddard, has announced a three-year partnership with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), becoming the first Official Legal Partner for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
This collaboration marks a significant step for the firm in aligning its business goals with community outreach, while supporting one of the most prestigious gardening events in the world.
Through this partnership, Addleshaw Goddard will back the creation of a garden at the renowned RHS Chelsea Flower Show each year.
Sarah Egbu, the firm’s Head of London Office, shared her excitement: “We are thrilled to partner with the Royal Horticultural Society and become the first Official Legal Partner of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. The show’s mission to bring joy through horticulture is something we deeply align with.”
The partnership also allows Addleshaw Goddard to support charitable initiatives. One example is the RHS Campaign for School Gardening, which promotes the benefits of gardening among children and young people.
Additionally, the law firm will sponsor a community outreach program focused on urban gardening, contributing to healthier environments and communities.
Each year, Addleshaw Goddard plans to relocate its sponsored garden to a worthy cause. This year’s garden was donated to a youth homeless charity in Scotland, continuing the firm’s tradition of supporting charitable endeavors.
James Wren, Director of Development & Corporate Partnerships at RHS, highlighted the global influence of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, stating, “The impact of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show reaches far beyond gardening enthusiasts. It showcases horticultural excellence and encourages healthier lives, stronger communities, and thriving environments.”
“We are pleased to welcome Addleshaw Goddard as our legal partner, demonstrating their leadership in helping people flourish.”
The RHS Chelsea Flower Show, organized by the Royal Horticultural Society, has long been regarded as one of the world’s premier gardening events. Established in 1913, the show has only been interrupted during the two World Wars and in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Held annually at the Royal Hospital Chelsea in London, it is famous for showcasing cutting-edge garden designs, new plant varieties, and innovative gardening concepts.
This partnership reinforces Addleshaw Goddard’s commitment to unlocking young potential, a core focus of the firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy.
The firm has initiated more than 40 youth-focused community programs to date, helping young individuals achieve their goals. “This collaboration allows us to make a real difference,” Egbu said.
“Through our investment in community gardening and education, we’re not just promoting legal services—we’re actively contributing to the future of horticulture and the environment.”
With the RHS Chelsea Flower Show attracting global attention, it sets gardening trends and influences practices worldwide.
The Addleshaw Goddard Junglette Garden, which won a gold medal in the Balcony Garden category at the 2024 show, exemplifies the positive outcomes of this partnership.
The garden has already found a second life at the charity supporting youth homelessness, serving as a symbol of the firm’s dedication to social causes.
The next RHS Chelsea Flower Show is set to take place from May 20-24, 2025, continuing its legacy of excellence and influence.
This collaboration between Addleshaw Goddard and RHS is bound to leave a lasting impact, not just on horticulture but on communities around the world.
